Eng Versione italiana

Strengthening the link between the local area and Europe is strategic for us: through our media and projects we aim to help bridge the communication gap between Italians and the European Union. We do this by building partnerships with other European stakeholders, informing people about the real benefits deriving from cohesion policies, and encouraging greater awareness and participation by bodies, institutions and citizens in the initiatives and activities promoted by the EU.

We take part in the implementation of European projects both as partners and as lead partners in sectors related to agriculture, information, integration, culture, social issues and training in the field of communication.

We specialise in dissemination activities to reach different target audiences by developing communication plans, audio and video content, websites, social networks, radio and TV programmes, events and information materials.

OUR PROJECTS

AGRINET4TECH – 2025/2026

AGRINET4TECH, a national and regional cross-media communication project focused on technological innovation promoted by the new CAP in Italy

Project ID 101233787
Status: ongoing
Start: 01 September 2025
End: 31 August 2026

A national and regional project aimed at increasing awareness of the New Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023–2027 and at telling the story of how technological innovation, digitalisation and sustainability are transforming Italian agriculture. Although the CAP is known to most European citizens, few truly understand its objectives and instruments. AGRINET4TECH was created to bridge this information gap through a broad and accessible communication strategy, capable of reaching citizens, farmers, young people, institutions and sector operators.

The project is fully aligned with the strategic objectives of the CAP, in particular with the modernisation of agriculture through knowledge, innovation and digital technologies, and fits within the main European frameworks: the Green Deal, Farm to Fork Strategy, Biodiversity Strategy 2030, the 2030 Climate and Energy Framework and the Digital Strategy 2030.

Main Project Actions

1. National and regional TV programme – “Agrinet: the future in the field”: 10 episodes of 25 minutes, dedicated to stories of farmers and companies adopting technologies and digital tools, hosted by Francesca Magnoni. Broadcast on TV2000 and on 6 regional broadcasters of the CORALLO network.
2. Podcast and Radio – “Agrinet: stories of sustainability”: 10 episodes of 20 minutes available on Radio ICARO, on the radio stations of the CORALLO network and as podcasts on Spreaker and on the broadcasters’ websites.
3. 40 regional Tech-News reports: journalistic features produced by local TV stations on territorial experiences of agricultural innovation, created in collaboration with IUAV University of Venice.
4. Digital multimedia content: news, videos, social content and newsletters for widespread online and local dissemination.

The Project Network: AGRINET4TECH is coordinated by Iniziative Editoriali – ICARO TV (Emilia-Romagna) and involves a national and regional network of media partners: TV2000, Radio ICARO, Associazione CORALLO, Teleradiopace TV (Liguria), Telebelluno (Veneto), TV Libera (Tuscany), TeleNova – Multimedia San Paolo (Lombardy), TeleClub Italia (Campania). Scientific support is provided by IUAV University of Venice, a long-standing partner of Gruppo Icaro.

Women in agriculture face cultural stereotypes and gender inequalities in rural areas. To address these issues, and building on the experience of the “Agri4Edu” projects (2022-23 and 2023-24), AGRINET4WOMEN aims to bridge the gap between Italians and Europeans, with particular attention to:

  • countering stereotypes and misinformation about the new CAP;
  • updating information and opportunities related to the new CAP in Italy;
  • informing and raising awareness about the challenges and opportunities in the agricultural sector for Italian women and farming mothers;
  • bringing Italian women, mothers and citizens closer to today’s reality of rural life, linked to the environment and technology for innovative production.

Through a cross-media intervention at national and regional level, AGRINET4WOMEN delivers:

  • A TV PROGRAMME with 8 episodes telling the stories of sustainable and innovative Italian women/farming mothers, broadcast on NATIONAL TV and rebroadcast on other regional TVs.
  • A LIVE TV “TALK SHOW” with 8 episodes focused on DATA JOURNALISM and STORYTELLING about the impact of the new CAP in Italy, with a special focus on women and farming mothers in different Italian regions, enriched by a debate between experts in the studio and guests connected from regional TV stations.
  • A RADIO-PODCAST PROGRAMME with 8 episodes telling the stories of the Italian women/farming mothers interviewed.

The project foresees a strong impact in terms of actions and dissemination of materials, also including digital social networks, websites, newsletters and a final event in Rome aimed at the target groups.

Farmers are not considered “cool”, agriculture is seen as an old-fashioned way of life, and rural areas are perceived as lacking opportunities for young people. These are the most common false beliefs, based on misinformation, that Italian children and citizens hold about farmers, agriculture and rural areas.

To address these issues, the AGRI4EDU23 project aims to “reduce the gap between Italians and Europeans on European agriculture and the new CAP approach, with particular attention to raising awareness among Italian citizens—especially children—about agriculture and contemporary rural life”.

The specific objectives are:

  • national-level updating of information and opportunities related to the new CAP in Italy;
  • national dissemination of Italian farmers’ experiences in tackling challenges and seizing opportunities in the reality of the agricultural sector;
  • education of children to bring them closer to today’s reality of rural life, connected to environmental awareness and the objectives of the new CAP in Italy.

Through an intervention at national and regional level, AGRI4EDU23 develops the following actions:

  1. Creation of TV PROGRAMMES with episodes broadcast on the Italian national TV channel TV2000 and on the Corallo national network, focusing on CAP topics in Italy, challenges and benefits for farmers in the agricultural sector. Each episode includes an interview with a farmer and a “focus” section on the use of educational material by children.
  2. Creation of RADIO PROGRAMMES with episodes and podcasts featuring farmers’ stories, in collaboration with a network of university web radios sharing experiences of sustainable consumption and “farm to fork” initiatives, aimed in particular at university students.
  3. Territorial use of a MULTIMEDIA KIT by primary school children in the regions of Liguria, Tuscany, Veneto, Apulia, Basilicata and Campania.

    AGRI4EDU23
    is built on a strong network of different media-sector organisations and also has a strong impact on digital social networks and websites dedicated to stakeholders.

Building on the experience of the “AgriNet” (2016-2021) projects, this new proposal aims to counter false perceptions and misinformation about European agriculture and the new CAP, affecting both farmers and Italian citizens, as well as to reduce old stereotypes and outdated ideas held by children about the figure of the farmer and how agriculture and today’s rural world work.

To address these issues, the main priority of the AGRINET4EDUCATION project is:
“to reduce the gap between Italians and Europeans on European agriculture and the new CAP approach, with particular attention to raising awareness about contemporary agriculture and rural life among Italian children and citizens”.

The specific objectives focus on:

  • updating information and opportunities related to the new CAP;
  • dissemination of farmers’ experiences in tackling challenges (climate change, agritech, etc.);

Agri4Edu will develop the following actions:

  1. A TV PROGRAMME with 9 episodes broadcast on the national TV channel TV2000 and on the Corallo national network.
  2. A RADIO PROGRAMME with 9 episodes and podcasts to share experiences of sustainable consumption and “farm to fork” initiatives.
  3. AN EDUCATIONAL KIT FOR SCHOOLS with a set of materials and educational resources to support teachers in teaching the CAP, climate change, sustainability and biodiversity, the role of the farmer and their current rural context.

AgriNet – 2021/2022

Network for the dissemination of content on the CAP related to sustainable agriculture based on innovation

Project: ID 101036238
Status: completed
Start: 01 August 2021
End: 31 July 2022

INIZIATIVE EDITORIALI SRL – Coordinator; ASSOCIAZIONE CORALLO – RADIOTELEVISIONI LIBERE LOCALI; RETE BLU SPA; CO.AP. COMUNITA’ APERTA SOCIETA’COOPERATIVA

The project is based on a strong network (see also all the letters of intent attached) involving 2 universities, RadUni, IDIMED, 2 municipal associations, 1 hospitality school, FICE and ANGA.

AgriNet is a cross-media project by Iniziative Editoriali with affiliated entities RETEBLU, CORALLO and COAP, aiming to:

  • reduce the gap between Italians and Europeans on the principles of the new CAP and inform about opportunities offered by the CAP;
  • tell the stories of innovative farmers tackling agritech challenges and support farmers in becoming more familiar with agritech-related topics;
  • promote debate among new generations, helping them become more aware of a sustainable lifestyle and raise awareness among children and teenagers on these topics.

The main focus of the project is the challenge of combining sustainability and technological innovation in agriculture, telling the stories of those farmers who, thanks to CAP support, are facing this challenge in Italy. In this context, city consumers—especially younger generations—also have a role, through their purchasing choices and, more broadly, by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The cross-media strategy is based on integrating different media:

  • A TV PROGRAMME (12 episodes broadcast on the Italian national channel TV2000 and on the Corallo national network) with a format alternating reports from the fields and explanations of sustainability-oriented agritech projects by university experts.
  • A RADIO PROGRAMME (12 episodes produced and broadcast by COAP and CORALLO in collaboration with the RadUni network of university web radios) telling urban experiences of sustainable consumption and farm-to-fork initiatives linked to student life.
  • AN EDUCATIONAL WEB PLATFORM dedicated to CAP topics for teachers and students, serving as a collection of videos (58 TV episodes + 116 short video clips) and useful information for teaching and educating young people about sustainable agriculture.

The impact of AgriNet has national coverage and dissemination includes the release of videos, backstage material, TV content and news on Facebook and Instagram, as well as the direct dissemination of information on CAP topics to stakeholders via newsletters and direct mailings.

The project is based on a strong network (see also all the letters of intent attached) involving 2 universities, RadUni, IDIMED, 2 municipal associations, 1 hospitality school, FICE and ANGA.
